This flower is for you, if you drop on by~

:icondurrhurrplz: Ignore the lame title, please. I really couldn't think of anything.

Anyway, funny story with this flower. Today is my sister-in-law's birthday, and apparently my grandpa's long-time friend, Edna, thought it was mine so she had these flowers delivered in my name. :iconotlplz: We called her and told her what happened, but she was still adamant that I keep the flowers, since she had me in mind while buying them. SO! I kept them, and they're beautiful. I couldn't help but take a few pictures!

Not sure what type of flower this is. I want to say it's a daisy, but for some reason, my instinct is saying no. Maybe it's in the daisy species...? If anyone knows, please tell me. Edit: Thanks to several people who pointed out to me that this is a gerbera!

The color was NOT edited/selective color, by the way. The color of the flower really is that vibrant pink-purple. :giggle: However, the levels where adjusted to get rid of the haze from the light I used.

Enjoy...<3

The colors are so vibrant! I love the focus and position of the flower and the droplet, the dark background also really helps it. Wonderfully done!

It's absolutely fantastic!!
Really wonderful work with the dof and focus. What did you use for a background?

:iconiloveyouplz: Nyaa, thank you!!! :iconkissingplz:

Um...< w < > w > I dunno...:iconimhappyplz: I just get lucky with certain shots? LOL

What I do is turn off all my lights and draw my shades in my room, and aim a light at the object I'm taking a picture of. As the lens focuses on the brightly-lit object, it causes the background to black out. I actually took this on my messy desk with tons of knick-knacks, believe it or not! It helped that I took it in front of my computer monitor, which was blacked out at the time, so yeah. Sometimes I have to put like a black shirt over items so the camera doesn't pick up like my Cloud figures and stuff in the background. XDDD But that's my silly novice way of doing it, and it works okay. XD

Haha, you're very welcome!!! :iconbigheartplz:

Ah I see, that's a great idea.
I've got a couple of shots in my gallery that I took in our bathroom, cause it's always really pitch black in there when you close the door, cause it has no windows.
My subjects were a MASSIVE, really really old Bible, and a candle, lighting up some of the words. [It was for a photography competition, and the theme was a certain verse in Psalms.] I took lots of shots, with different candles and stuff, some from close and some bigger. The Only Light was one of my support photos, and Our Hope was the one I entered.
I love the colour of light that the candle gives.

Okay.. I'll shut up rambling now > w < sorry! :meow:

Tbh.. I think a Cloudy face in the bottom corner of one of those photos would be a great lol XDD
